At pudujijayaxa, our mission is to celebrate and preserve the rich oral traditions of Sarawak through an extensive collection of indigenous poetry. We aim to provide a platform that showcases the vibrant voices of Sarawak indigenous authors, offering an authentic glimpse into the cultural narratives that have shaped our region. Our commitment is to ensure that these stories are not only told but also cherished by future generations.
Our Story
Founded in 2023, pudujijayaxa began as a humble poetry bookshop dedicated to the indigenous verse of Sarawak. Our collection features over 200 titles, encompassing traditional poetry Malaysia and indigenous narratives that emphasize the unique perspectives of our local writers. By bridging the gap between oral tradition and print, we aim to enhance the accessibility of Sarawak literature for all readers, both local and international.
Cultural Significance
Indigenous poetry serves as a vital expression of Sarawak's cultural heritage and identity. Through our offerings, we strive to highlight the importance of preserving oral traditions, which have been passed down through generations. Each book not only captures the essence of Borneo poetry but also reflects the diverse experiences and histories of its people, creating a deeper understanding of Malaysian indigenous literature.
Community Engagement
We believe in fostering a community around the love for poetry and storytelling. Our poetry bookshop in Sarawak hosts regular workshops and events that engage both aspiring and established poets. These initiatives aim to nurture local talent while promoting awareness of Sarawak's rich cultural tapestry. We also collaborate with schools and local organizations to inspire the next generation of writers and storytellers.
